Leh
Welcome to Jammu, the winter capital of Indian State Jammu and Kashmir. Arrive at Jammu airport and proceed to Katra, the base point of Vaishnodevi. Arrive at Katra and check into your hotel. The rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight at Katra.
Day 2
Leh
Discover the enchanting city of Leh! Start your adventure at Shanti Stupa, a serene peace monument by Japanese Buddhists, blessed by the Dalai Lama himself. Feel the mysterious pull at Magnetic Hill, pay your respects at Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, witness the majestic confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers, and explore the valor at the Hall of Fame War Museum (open depending on operations). Cap off your day with an exhilarating Folk dance performance in the evening (also subject to operation). Don’t miss this unforgettable journey!
Day 3
Leh – Khardung La Pass – Diskit – Nubra Valley
In the morning, we’ll head to Nubra Valley, also known as Dumra, located north of Leh. It’s reached via the Khardung La pass, which is one of the world’s highest drivable roads, standing at 5359 meters. Once over the pass, we’ll visit the Diskit Monastery, Nubra Valley’s oldest and largest monastery, renowned for its stunning architecture and detailed frescoes and wall paintings. We’ll also see the Future Buddha, a 108 feet tall statue of Lord Buddha. Our journey continues alongside the Shyok River until we reach Nubra Valley, celebrated for its untouched natural beauty, breathtaking lakes, apricot orchards, and charming atmosphere. Famous for Bactrian camels and the option of Quad biking, you’ll have the chance to try these activities at your own expense if time allows.
Day 4
Nubra Valley – Turtuk Village – Nubra Valley
Today, we embark on an excursion to Turtuk Village, where the landscape, culture, language, attire, and even the residents’ physical features undergo significant changes, marking our entry into the Baltistan region. This area represents the Indian-administered portion of Baltistan. Captured by the Indian army during the 1971 war, Turtuk Village stands as the last village in Ladakh near the Line of Control (LOC) and serves as one of the gateways to the Siachen Glacier. In the evening, we will return to Nubra Valley.
Day 5
Nubra Valley – Pangong Lake
Visit Pangong Tso, Ladakh’s most famous lake, known for its high altitude and color-changing waters from blue to green shades. The lake’s brackish water supports minimal micro-vegetation and lacks aquatic life. However, it serves as a crucial breeding ground for various birds, including migratory species. Stretching over 100 km from China, Tibet to India, the lake offers a unique experience. Stay overnight at Pangong to fully soak in its beauty.
Day 6
Nubra Trip To Turtuk 90 kms – Duration – 03 hrs approx.One way
Following breakfast, the itinerary includes a visit to the Museum and Turtuk village, renowned for its wide array of fruit varieties, with apricots being particularly notable. Turtuk came under Indian sovereignty following its capture by the Indian Army in the 1971 conflict, having previously been under Pakistani administration. This village represents the northernmost point of India’s Ladakh region and acts as one of the gateways to the Siachen Glacier. Accommodation for the night will be arranged in Nubra.
Day 7
Pangong Lake – Leh
In the morning, we embark on an exciting journey to Leh. Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the rich history at Shey Palace, once the summer retreat for Ladakh’s royalty. Then, let the majestic Indus river captivate you, before exploring the spiritual serenity of Hemis Gompa. Don’t miss the chance to visit the famous Rancho School (open depending on schedule), adding a unique touch to your adventure.
Day 8
Leh Airport Drop
